The Silsbee Lady Tigers saw their 2026 volleyball season come to an end Thursday night, October 29, following a hard-fought 3-1 loss to Madisonville in the opening round of the UIL State Volleyball Playoffs. While the final score wasn't what the Lady Tigers had hoped for, the season was filled with memorable victories, determination, and a group of seniors who helped lead the program throughout the year.
Although Thursday's loss marked the end of the season, it does not diminish what these young athletes accomplished. Their determination, teamwork, and Tiger pride helped make the 2026 season one worth remembering.
As the Lady Tigers look toward the future, the younger players will have the opportunity to build upon the example set by this year's graduating seniors.
For the seniors, their final match may be behind them, but the friendships, lessons, and memories created while wearing the Silsbee uniform will remain.
Congratulations to the entire Lady Tiger volleyball team on a wonderful season, and a special thank-you to the seniors for their dedication, leadership, and the pride they have brought to Silsbee High School. Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!
This year's senior class included Ryann Norsworthy, Kimora Fisher, Grace Rulon, Addison Durant, Brooke Miller, Alley-Jade Cravey, Braden Seal, Annsley Prince, and Zadayah Washington.
These young ladies helped provide leadership on and off the court, setting an example for the younger players who will carry the Lady Tiger tradition forward. Their commitment to the program, their teammates, and their school has been an important part of the team's identity this season.
Earlier in October, the Lady Tigers celebrated Senior Night with a commanding 3-0 victory over Vidor, providing a special memory for the graduating players and their families.
From long practices and demanding matches to unforgettable celebrations with teammates, these seniors have helped create memories that will last far beyond their high school volleyball careers.
Silsbee came out strong in the opening set, claiming a 25-19 victory and showing the same competitive spirit that had helped carry the team into postseason play. Madisonville responded by taking the next two sets 25-19 and 25-20, setting up a closely contested fourth set.
Refusing to go down without a fight, the Lady Tigers battled throughout the final set before narrowly falling 25-23, bringing their playoff journey to an emotional conclusion.
The Lady Tigers entered the postseason with a 17-9 record, including an impressive four-match winning streak late in the regular season. Throughout the year, Silsbee celebrated several memorable performances, including dominating sweeps over Vidor, West Orange-Stark, Bridge City, and Jasper.
But perhaps the greatest story of this year's volleyball team wasn't found in the win column. It was found in the leadership, dedication, and determination of an outstanding group of seniors who helped shape the program.
