COMMISSIONER VISITS SILSBEE STUDENTS TO DISCUSS LOCAL GOVERNMEN

Students in Mr. Thornton’s history class received a special lesson in local government this week when Hardin County Precinct 2 Commissioner Chris Kirkendall stopped by for a classroom visit. During his visit, Kirkendall spoke with students about the responsibilities of local government, the importance of civic involvement, and how voting gives citizens a voice in their communities. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and gain a better understanding of how decisions made at the county level affect their everyday lives. The visit provided a valuable learning experience, connecting classroom lessons to real-world government and encouraging students to recognize the importance of being informed and involved citizens.

Silsbee ISD expressed its appreciation to Commissioner Kirkendall for taking the time to visit with students and share his knowledge with the next generation of community leaders.
